Blogging has now become one of the most effective and convenient ways to share one’s thoughts, recipes, adventures and whatnots. In fact, many people are now earning serious amount of cash by blogging while some consider it as a side income. However, blogging isn’t just about money or even online popularity.

Bloggers have varying reasons as to why they started their blog in the first place. If you are planning to start your own blog, then the first thing that you need to carefully determine is your reason or purpose of having a blog. Once you are able to identify the goal of your blog, the next step is to focus on what you need to do to achieve your desired end results.

It is common knowledge that active or popular bloggers are able to use their blogs as a means to earn an income. However, new bloggers must keep in mind that they need to focus first on branding their blog before they can actually make money out of it. The problem with some bloggers is they are too attracted to the thought of making money so they would sometimes resort to posting click bait content which can be very annoying.

If you want to make it big in the blogging world, then here are a few tips on how to properly brand your blog:

Content is the key

It is wise to stick to your niche unless you want to confuse your readers. Make sure that your posts are well thought of and always avoid plagiarism. Be creative in your posts and always update your blog. Make your thoughts or ideas come to life but do keep away from flowery or jargon terms or words. It would also be best to regularly interact with your readers. This means that you have to take the time to respond to their comments or queries.

Social media can be a blogger’s best friend when it comes to promoting their site. Many people are now using social media sites like Facebook or Twitter which can be effectively used as a way for bloggers to update their readers. The power of social media can help any blogger share their new posts with just one click and they can even reach more of their target market with the help of such sites. Bloggers who use WordPress can even make use of helpful Social Media plugins so their readers can instantly follow them on their social media accounts.

Social Media Marketing

By tapping social media into your respective blogs, you will get the following benefits:

  • Helps target audiences more effectively
  • Helps find new customers and expand your audience
  • Allows you to receive instant feedback from your readers’ perspective
  • Improve market intelligence and get ahead of your competitors
  • It help increase website traffic and search ranking

Making money from your blog will basically be a lot easier once the blog receives a lot of hits or visitors. Therefore, new bloggers must first concentrate on making their blog attractive to their target market. Some bloggers may get a little lucky by getting a huge following in a short amount of time, while some may still need to figure out a surefire way to promote their blog. But whatever your intention may be of creating your blog, always remember to love what you’re doing and just have fun with your blog.

  • How times have changed. Nowadays, there are far more bloggers who started with the intent of making money. As such, you will see so many blogs (new ones) already having advertising links, etc. But that is not going to work. I agree with you, one needs to build a following first and traffic before monetizing.

Looking at your site, for instance, I do not see ads such as Adsense and others. Bloggers need to know that inserting codes means loading times suffer, and with each ad, it becomes a distraction to what pure blogging is about, the content and the value you give them.

Having said that, if one were to earn pennies for ads, then might as well remove them.

Meanwhile, focus on learning and with each new post, apply better ways of writing. Focusing on the content is what bloggers should prioritize in the beginning. In my opinion, this is what one should do for one year, before even thinking of monetizing.

I believe in writing original and quality content and then maximizing Social Media. For now the best ones to promote are Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook. These days, most influencers earns more in their Social Media Accounts than their blog which results to other totally taking their blog for granted.
