Top and Finest Hotels & Resorts In Cebu You Shouldn’t Miss

Last updated on August 26th, 2017 at 12:21 pm

Cebu is one of the most beautiful provinces in the Phillipines, and that’s saying something. Comprised of numerous islands – most notably the larger Cebu Island – and including Cebu City, it’s a popular destination for travelers exploring the area. People go to see pretty beaches, try scuba diving or watersports, explore historic temples and churches, and enjoy the local culture. But if you’re heading to Cebu, you also need someplace to stay! So without further ado, here’s a look at some of the top hotels and resorts you shouldn’t miss in the region.

Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort

Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort

This is a waterfront resort on Mactan, an island just across the water from Cebu City. The resort is located on the Hilutungan Channel, and is surely one of the most serene destinations in the region. But it’s not all about tranquil relaxation. The resort also boasts an “Aquamania” area, which is basically a bay packed with watersport options (jet-skiing, scuba, snorkeling, and boating).

Movenpick Hotel Mactan

Movenpick Cebu

As you can tell from then name this is another Mactan hotel, and oen that’s a little more exclusive and a little more expensive than Bluewater. There’s a little more focus on a spa atmosphere and a bit less in the way of fun activities.

JPark Island Resort & Waterpark

 JPark Island Resort & Waterpark

Yet another Mactan resort, this one has a little bit of everything: five-star rooms, exquisite dining, its own waterpark, and beautiful views. This may well be the best option for a family trip to the Cebu region, as the kids will be delighted by the waterpark and the general luxury and dining options will be heaven on Earth for adults.

Waterfront Cebu City

This resort is in Cebu City, and looks the part of a more traditional luxury hotel. It’s perhaps most notable for the Casino Filipino it houses, which offers a fairly extensive list of gaming options. Given the advent of internet casino games and the migration of developers to online platforms this century, it can be surprisingly refreshing to stumble on a legitimate destination resort with a full casino floor to enjoy.

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa

It’s back to Mactan with this option, which is a five-star resort surrounded by lush greenery and built right up against the water. There’s a little bit of everything at Shangri-La: watersports, golfing, a high-end spa, diving opportunities, etc. It’s also a popular wedding destination, though that can be said of several resorts in Cebu an around the Philippines.

Sotogrande Hotel & Spa

This is a more ordinary hotel, also on Mactan but not surrounded by wildlife or pushed right up against the ocean. Still, if you’re primarily looking for a place to stay while you explore the larger area, the rooms are comfortable and the location is ideal.

Costabella Tropical Beach Hotel

Costabella

This hotel is just a short distance northeast of Bluewater, and is essentially the smaller and more intimate option. There’s a lovely spa, as well as an open-air tapas bar that you might not want to spend a night away from during your stay. It’s a nice calm place for a family getaway as well, given the relatively private beach and the array of recreation activities (including bike rides, beach volleyball, kids’ activities, and table tennis).

Radisson Blu Cebu

Radisson Blu

This is another hotel located on Cebu, and though it’s part of the larger Radisson chain, it’s a terrific luxury escape. Rooms almost resemble Las Vegas suites, the courtyards and pools around the hotel insulate it from the city, and the rooms on the higher floors have excellent views of the Mactan Channel. This hotel made one travel site’s list of the best places to stay in Cebu specifically for those seeking luxury.

Solea Mactan Resort

Solea Mactan

Near the southern tip of Mactan, this is a more contemporary resort than many of the ones listed above. In some respects those looking for a natural-looking getaway should know that this makes it feel a bit more commercial. But it’s also an elegant and peaceful resort with seaside views and satisfying amenities. There also seems to be a focus on events, from weddings to corporate team building.

Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan

Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan

This is one of the newer and nicer resorts in the area, immediately recognizable for the red umbrellas and chair cushions around its pool areas. It’s the picture of a tropical paradise, and differentiates itself from its counterparts mostly through its nightlife. The Azure Beach Club is one of the best places in Cebu to hang out after sunset.

Cebu is truly blessed with so many wonders. Our list is quite short, to name them all would take us a while. There are still a lot of interesting places you can visit and explore.

On to you, have you visited any of the hotel and resorts listed above? How was the experience?
