SouthWalk: South Heritage Photowalk

Last updated on August 1st, 2019 at 07:42 am

For those shutterbugs that breathe and live seeing what others can’t see, the SouthWalk is more than a gathering, but a lifestyle. Photography enthusiasts and wanderlusts are joining this event to seize the moment, relive the past and experience a different kind of adventure. Also, the whole concept of SouthWalk is visiting the heritage churches of Southern Cebu in the hope of basking into the history, origins and the cultural heritage that the people are upholding up to this day. This photowalk also aims to capture traces of the Spanish Conquest and its effects to the past and present society we dwell in.

SouthWalk: South Heritage Photowalk (2014)

This was the very first SouthWalk we did way back 2014. We are only a handful back then but the experience was way beyond expectations. Everything was perfect on this trip. The breathtaking sunrise in Naga, the churches and the grand sundown in Oslob.

SouthWalk: South Heritage Photowalk (2016)

Last year’s SouthWalk was also an interesting one because we are joined by some of Cebu’s best bloggers. Though most of them have visited each of these amazing places but being able to visit them in a single day is such a different thing.

SouthWalk: South Heritage Photowalk (2017)

The 2017 Southwalk was quite a memorable one because we manage to visit the Sta Catalina Street in Carcar which is famous for its heritage houses. We also met new friends who share the same passion with us. The 2017 Southwalk was truly a weekend trip worth remembering.

SouthWalk: South Heritage Photowalk (2018)

Our 2018 SouthWalk was a big blast. Though there has been less fuss about it yet we still managed to push through and the best thing is that most of our participants were first timers.

Since we added back Simala-Lindogon church to the itinerary, the adventure has leveled up.
