Marisse Patisserie: Bliss in Every Bite

Last updated on October 3rd, 2017 at 06:42 pm

According to celebrity-chef Ron Ben-Israel, “pastry is different from cooking because you have to consider the chemistry, beauty and flavor. It is not just sugar and eggs thrown together.” And this is how Marisse Patisserie‘s heavenly delights are made.

Love and passion for baking is what motivates owner, Marisse Alvarez-Sy, to run the show. Opened in July of last year, this pastry shop has managed to make a name for itself in the pâtisserie industry here in Cebu, while it being in a serene and vibrant location at 32 Sanson by Rockwell in Lahug makes it even more stimulating.

The Place

The invigorating ambiance of this dainty café is perfect for someone who prefers the peace and quiet, and to escape the bustling city life. The Instagram-worthy interiors is something to look out for. Cabanas are available in the pool area (yes, they have a pool!), where you can enjoy their freshly-baked goods in an al fresco setting. I find the place suitable for bookworms and students alike, or simply anyone who craves for a moment of isolation.

The Food

Everything here is made from scratch and is meticulously crafted by the skillful hands of Chef Marisse herself. For a sweet-tooth like me, falling in love with such “works of art” is as natural as one breathes for air.

For the many varieties of cakes and pastries available, it was almost mind-boggling for me to pick only one favorite. But being the probinsyano that I am, since I’d usually go for the most basic of flavors, I ended up choosing Ria’s Banana Cheesecake (ftw!). The earthiness that you get from the bananas and the velvety-rich flavor from the cream cheese is like a match made in pastry-heaven.

Go grab for your loved ones some tempting goodies, if not, reward yourself after a long day with specialty bars and brownies at very affordable prices. Ube White Chocolate, Oreo Cheesecake, Original Brownie and Walnut Brownie are among the few flavors that I highly recommend.

The Drinks

At Marisse Patisserie, your caffeine-powered drinks are served either hot or cold. Enjoy your steaming hot Americano or chill with an icy cool latte, whatever floats your boat. Frappes are also served here, in case you feel like having extra calories for the day.

So, if you’re looking for a haven close to perfection, Marisse Patisserie is the place to be. Truly, a bliss in every bite.

  1. Hala dool raman diay nis amoa. HAHA. Will definitely visit this one of these days.

  2. The place, as well as how the pastries are presented on the table, is giving me some serious Dove Street Confectionery vibes. Haven’t been to this place but I love how mouthwatering some of their breads and cakes look. Yum!

  3. That place is really heaven for the sweet tooth and hell for the diabetics… 😉 Just a great place for cakes and pastries gyud.
