It has been an interesting run for mobile photography. It has gone from nothing to something. A lot of avid photography lovers are paying close attention to mobile photography nowadays. Some say smartphones are the best and reliable camera because it always come handy. And if compared to conventional photography, mobile photography does not require much.
Last August 5, 2017, our group Huawei Sugbo organized the first ever Huawei Mobile Photowalk dubbed as Conquer Cebu. There has been a series of mobile photography events in Cebu but this is the first photowalk that is solely intended for avid Huawei smartphone users.
The event started with a short talk from 2 of the most prolific travel bloggers in Cebu, Miguel Gee Abas and James Arthur Adalim. Migs, shared interesting tips on how he uses the Huawei GR5 in taking stunning photos during his travels while James shared tips in using the Huawei P9 in street photography.
After a quick yet insightful words from our speakers, our photowalk commenced and we head to our first stop, the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño.
After visiting the Basilica, the group headed to the Magellan’s Cross then a quick stop at the Senior Citizens Park before exploring the very diverse Carbon market.
After roaming the Carbon market, the group then heads to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral passing through downtown Colon. The last stop of our walk was at the Rajah Humabon Monument where the group had its group photo and final announcements about the event’s photo contest.
Overall, the day went well for everyone and we are so glad that everyone enjoyed the course of the photowalk. We are very grateful also for the overwhelming response from fellow Cebuano Huawei smartphone users, our event wouldn’t be a success if not for them. Big thanks also to Huawei Mobile for believing and supporting our cause. PRG Photo Shop and Macy’s Camera Shop for extending support on our event.
Below are the top picks and winning entries from the 1st Cebu Huawei Mobile Photowalk.
