Blogger Spotlight: Roneth Politud of The Fickle Feet

It’s the second wave of the summer season and it’s another episode of The Blogger Spotlight. Our first featured blogger for this month is a certified traveler, she grew up travelling and exploring different places in the island of Mindanao every summer. We are very thrilled to present this blogger because we came from the same province in Mindanao.

Ladies and gents, with no further adieu, let us all meet Roneth, the curious, the wanderlust and the blogger behind The Fickle Feet.

Roneth Politud

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT INTO BLOGGING?

Roneth: Introducing myself is one of the hardest things to do! Haha. So I’ll just keep it short. I’m from Tandag, Surigao del Sur. I’m a jack of all trades and a master of none which I think is a good and bad thing at the same time. I’m pretty curious and it takes me to a lot of interesting situations.

Every single day, I write to my journal about my day to day activities. The highlight and even the lowest part of it. It depends on how my day went. So I decided to create an online version of it. A documentary of my life. It was back in 2011 but it was an on and off relationship until I created my Travel Blog, The Fickle Feet. It has been a year, and I’m loving every bit of it!

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA OF YOUR BLOG’S NAME?

Roneth: I was trying to pick a name for my blog and asked a friend if it sounds okay or if it fits my personality. In every suggestion I gave her was not that good according to her. Since she keep on telling me that I’m fickle-minded. I sarcastically said, ‘I guess I have to name my blog fickle-minded’ then she suddenly said with a big smile ‘The Fickle Feet’. And so the fickle feet it is.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?

Roneth: Blogging, or I must say writing is a creative space for me where I can share my own story. Stories from my experience, stories from my thoughts, and stories from my heart. And in each story,  I want to write all of it as profound and as humane as it is. Blogging allows me to share those to others. To share my testimonies and I’m hoping that it will create a ripple of goodness to those who visit my humble space of creativity.

WHAT IS THE FOCUS OF YOUR BLOG AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT NICHE?

Roneth: Since I love how my travels change my own perspective. I decided to create a travel blog. But this is not just about ‘how to’ and ‘things to try’ in a specific place. It’s more on a personal encounter of the place and the people I meet. To be honest, I don’t do itineraries. I suck at it.  But I want to be helpful and try to share relevant information as much as I can of my travels.

Roneth: I think creating good quality content. It takes time and motivation to be able to create one. .

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO JUST STARTED BLOGGING

Roneth: If you want it, do it! I know that those who want to start or just started blogging doubt their self a lot. I’ll just take a excerpt my first blog post.

“…we may hear doubts anywhere we go and whatever we do, sometimes those voices are loud, sometimes it sounds small, but always remember that hearing is different from listening. Sometimes we are the one creating those unimportant voices. I want you to focus and only listen to those voices that give positivity and possibility. Because that’s the only noise that matters.”

IN THE FUTURE WHERE DO YOU HOPE YOUR BLOG WILL TAKE YOU?

Roneth: My blog will be my own documentary of my life journey and I hope it will take me to places where I can share my own piece of perspective. Most importantly, I hope through it, I can inspire other people of my own story of adventures, self-discoveries and learning experiences.
