TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT INTO BLOGGING?

Ram: Hi there! I am Ram by birth and Ryo by choice. I am blogging at masterryo.wordpress.com. I am a native of Leyte, an adopted son of Dumaguete , Negros Island and a nomad of Cebu. haha

I can hardly think of how it all started (formally. ha-ha) but I can account one situation that led me into blogging.

I used to write my rants, rather statuses on Facebook and it eventually saved as notes. From there I started exploring the blogosphere, even up to now still exploring it. I am not a tech savvy one so it’s kinda hard good thing some friends came handy!

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA OF YOUR BLOG’S NAME?

Ram: I got my blog name out of my fascination from a movie and an anime.

I was watching star wars back then and characters there have some cool names like Jedi Master and etc. I consider putting one in my blog. As for Ryo, he is my favorite anime from the street fighter. And putting both all together created my online identity.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?

Ram: I have 3 point answer to this. First, blogging allows me to document my life through this online platform and it also gives me an opportunity to connect to other people from the different corners of the world. Secondly, blogging gives me an outlet to express my thoughts freely, creatively and productively. Lastly, blogging change the way I view the internet, I think I can be an influence in the society by blogging for social good which is often taken for granted by others.

WHAT IS THE NICHE OF YOUR BLOG AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE IT?

Ram: I think my blog would fall under Lifestyle and travel. I blog about my travel (mis) adventures and anything under the sun. I love to share my experience in my travel, I put them in the scene in my blog while reading. Also, I love to engage with others hearing their ideas and opinions on my random thoughts.

ARE YOU MONETIZING YOUR BLOG? HOW DO YOU MONETIZE YOUR BLOG’S TRAFFIC?

Ram: hmm. I think there are little ones that are coming but it all starts from there

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION FOR YOUR BLOG POSTS?

Ram: My sources of inspiration would be a too many to mention but in a nut shell. I get mine it from the travel blogs I read both local and foreign, from my (few maybe, but) valued readers, from the people that surround me physically and virtually and from the passion that drives me which is the cornerstone of everything I do.

BESIDES BLOGGING, WHAT OTHER INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE?

Ram: I am a semi-well rounded person if it may be acceptable? ha-ha. Basically, I enjoy everything under the sun. I enjoy everything life thrown at me. I may not be able to dobest in everything but what matters is at the end I enjoyed what I did. P.S : I tried to learn them and tried them.

HOW WAS YOUR BLOGGING SO FAR? HAVE YOU RECEIVED AWARDS AND RECOGNITION SINCE YOU STARTED?

Ram: Modesty aside, I am humbled that few people are starting to recognize me which already is a milestone.
I always bet on luck and I have won some free trips and some stuff out of blogging contest and recently, I won an all expense tour to Bohol and Cebu, which I consider a late Christmas present. While getting one of the recognitions from an award giving body sounds exciting and challenging, but it is something to look forward too.

WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO JUST STARTED BLOGGING

Ram: I guess my advice would be, “Give your best shot in everything you do and failing is not a reason to quit but lesson to learn. Keep your passion burning!“

LASTLY, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR BLOG IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?

Ram: Five years seems far and I hope to be someone in 5 years time. I want to travel more places, met diverse people, share more stories and still running my own blog.
