Blogger Spotlight: Anne of Anne’s Scribbles and Doodles

Our second featured blogger for this week is not new into blogging. She has been roaming in the blogosphere for quite a while now in search for glory and pride. She mostly blogs about her food encounters and interesting DIY stuff. If you love scribbling and doodling, her blog is definitely a must-visit portal.

Ladies and gents, let’s hop on to Anne‘s magic carpet and let’s explore her nifty and crafty world at Anne’s Scribbles and Doodles.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU GOT INTO BLOGGING?

Anne Rochelle: Hey there, I’m Anne! I’m an old soul lost in a digital jungle, a travel junkie, a certified bookworm, an avid shutterbug, a foodie, a freelance writer, a raconteur of sorts, a passionate DIYer, a dreamer and a lifestyle blogger all rolled up in one amazing burrito!

I’m a mishmash of two Philippine metropolitan jungles, Manila where I was born and Cebu where I grew up so you can often see my blog posts hop from one city to the other. Although, that doesn’t mean I’m a jet setter. I wish! I just happen to have so many memories of the two that a week-long stay in one can end up as twenty four blog posts. I’m a chatterbox like that.

I got into blogging after helping my sister out on a project. She knew I had a little HTML background in high school and asked me to code. I honestly forgot how to do it at the time but it was a challenge I had no plans of backing out from. Since then I got hooked and made my own blog! Plus, I’ve always been a frustrated writer with the dreams of a NY Times Bestseller. Blogging for me comes quite close.

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA OF YOUR BLOG’S NAME?

Anne Rochelle: The name for “Anne’s Scribbles and Doodles” is a marriage between two of my passions: writing and the arts. I threw in my name into the mix just to give it some personal touch.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BLOGGING?

Anne Rochelle: It’s my creative escape. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m a frustrated writer and as crazy as it may sound my high school dream was not to go out to prom with my true love but to get myself published on the school paper. Writing may it be in endless sentences or playful rhymes is an escape, a vessel, an adventure, an insight and a window into my thoughts, my emotions and my soul. I’d like to believe that I’m a raconteur with a penchant for sending words from my head and my heart to my fingertips. Blogging allows me to do that. Of course, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Thanks to blogging, I slowly got out of my shell. I got to meet a lot of people and make new friends locally and abroad. It opened opportunities and experiences I haven’t even dreamed about.

WHAT IS THE NICHE OF YOUR BLOG AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE IT?

Anne Rochelle: It falls under the Lifestyle category because I could never get myself to write about just one thing! I aim to inspire may it be through travel, food, DIY projects, art, poetry, thoughts to ponder or what have you because life is not meant to be lived in the mundane. You have to experience it in every palette and palate imaginable.

ARE YOU MONETIZING YOUR BLOG? HOW DO YOU MONETIZE YOUR BLOG’S TRAFFIC?

Anne Rochelle: I’ve recently gone into monetizing with the hopes of getting a decent return to help me raise funds in maintaining and improving the blog. Plus, a cup of ice cream can really help push my creativity further. At the moment, my earnings come from sponsored posts, Google Adsense and Nuffnang ads.

Anne Rochelle: The world in general. There’s nothing really specific. Just look around you and find inspiration from all of it.

BESIDES BLOGGING, WHAT OTHER INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE?

Anne Rochelle: The blog is somewhat a portfolio of my passions and interests: writing, art, travel and crafts. Apart from that I am a voracious reader and I love to cook and bake.

  1. I love her DIYs! I’ve been enjoying this series so far and it’s a good avenue to get to know more blogs to read. By the way, there seems to be something wrong with the site on my end. There are a lot of codes mixed with the texts of most articles.
