Exceptional Cebuana Bloggers Worth Following

Last updated on March 8th, 2022 at 10:57 am

It is often said that a woman is an ultimate strength and support behind the success of every man. It doesn’t apply to all and most would even prefer the other way around. Men and women have different characteristics. Both are special and unique in its own way. There are things men can’t do and there are things that a woman can’t. It’s just fascinating to know that women are exemplary on what they do.

The Suffragettes, who fought vehemently for women’s rights and the right to vote. Malala Yousafza, a young Pakistani who fought for access to education in her country. Amelia Earhart, the first woman who flew across the Atlantic Ocean. Mother Theresa, Eleanor Roosevelt, Queen Elizabeth, and Hellen Keller. They are just among the few of the greatest women who fearlessly face their adversaries. Taunted and underestimated yet proved that women, like men, can succeed and do the impossible.

Blogging, a world dominated mostly by men. Little did we know that there are remarkable women who are making noise and making a name for themselves. This empowered women bloggers choose to be different and pursue excellence in what they do.

In observance of the National Women’s Month Celebration, we handpicked 16 of the finest Cebuana bloggers who have established a name for themselves in the blogosphere. These Cebuana bloggers are advocates of change and social good. We may not know most of them but these talented women have done exceptional things that will surely inspire you to do great things yourself.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

An exceptional woman, for me, has no single definition, no singular face. It varies from one woman to the next.

But perhaps, open-mindedness is a key character of an exceptional woman. She lives life on her terms. She is independent but knows how to compromise, when needed. She respects other women’s choices and womanness. And definitely, she is not a macho woman. 😉

Quote she lived by

To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

I love my family. I believe in what I can do and I let my work speak for myself. I am aware that I do not know all things and so I strive to learn as much as I can and pass what I have learned to others in any way. I believe in hard work and fun, in calculated risks and leaps of faith. I strive to be honest with myself and for myself. I am persistent in my goal to become a flexible writer.

Quote she lived by

…whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

She has to blend the right amount of courage, strength, perseverance and humility to nurture a winning attitude in life. She should not be afraid to speak her mind and should always be ready to defend those who can’t speak for themselves. She’s someone who’s fearless and won’t be easily dictated to conform with the norms of society. An exceptional woman knows her self-worth and stands by her principles.

An exceptional woman, for me, is one who knows how to stand up for herself while still carrying herself with grace; one who is intelligent, kind, honest, and fearless. She’s one whom others could look up to and draw inspiration from.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

An exceptional woman is someone who chooses to live life on her own terms and does not give into the dictate of society (whether it’s choosing family over career or vice versa, breastfeeding in public, becoming head of the family, etc).  She does not conform to standards because she is her own unique self. She is one who does not need a man in her life but treats him with utmost respect and admiration when he does come into her life. She is one who puts her family ahead, even before she thinks of herself.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

I believe that being an exceptional woman can mean differently in different occasions but for me to be exceptional means to be confident in who you are and what you can do as an individual. An exceptional woman uses her strengths to succeed in whatever field she’s in but still embraces her flaws as her identity. Most importantly, even though she has a significant other or a bunch of friends, she already feels complete and whole on her own and doesn’t rely on anyone to validate her individuality. And even with all the strengths she has, she still recognizes that she’s also vulnerable at times and is not afraid to seek help when needed. She loves, cares, and forgives.

An exceptional woman is someone who does not conform to the pattern of this world. She is self-sufficient, and does not depend on anyone to make her life complete. The world may tell her to look, walk, act, or talk like this or that, but she is pretty confident of herself, she will just shine naturally.

When asked, What it means to be an exceptional woman

To be able to inspire people through my works (writings/blog features) is enough reason to continue doing what I do and try to be better every time. For me, a woman fueled with passion, positivity and confidence will excel in whatever she puts her heart into, although I believe that there is really no specific formula to becoming exceptional. Being a blogger also entails responsibility. People read my articles and follow my blog therefore I should be able to project a fairness and truth to my readers every time.
