#EverydayMandaue: A Glimpse of Mandaue In Our Viewfinders

Last updated on February 2nd, 2017 at 06:39 am

Mandaue, Cebu, Philippines — When History, Heritage and Industrialization combine, all you get is a massive collection of all things good in the city. Mandaue City, one of the major cities of Cebu Province, has been a living example of how industrialization shaped up the terrain of a community.

For this year, after thorough brainstorming, we decided to have this done in the robust City of Mandaue. With the full support of Bluewater Maribago, PRG Photo Shop, Macy’s Camera Shop, Manfrotto and Henry’s Professional, and the enthusiasm of our co-organizers, Kalami Cebu, Viajera CebuanaGuideCebu, The Subtle Arttraction and Drift Stories, this event is expected to be as invigorating as it sounds.

What is a Photowalk?

While many of us are wondering what it is, to simply put, it is the gathering of photography enthusiasts from all walks of life with the sole purpose of rediscovering the streets and the charm and strong historical value each place reeks of.

The photowalk aims to get to know more about what Mandaue City is fondly known for. Backed by a team of photography enthusiasts, the said event is expected to gather enthusiasts all over Cebu and make feel proud of the heritage and culture that Mandaue brings. Local delicacies like the famous Bibingka, Masareal sticks and the ever present Puto and Sikwate greets church goers as well as travelers from all over. The Bibingka spells everything Mandaue, original, pure and unique.

The industries are alive in Mandaue as well. Big corporations like San Miguel Corporation and Coca Cola FEMSA found their home in the city. Leading Motorcycle group Norkis also sits comfortably in A.S. Fortuna. The wood magnate MATIMCO also found its home in Mandaue. Truly, there is more to what the eye meets in the city. #itsmorefuninmandaue is an understatement. Banks and other commercial areas like malls and hotels also found their own spot in the city and thrived collectively to make Mandaue City what it is today. Schools and hospitals also abound. The only pet friendly mall in Cebu Province, Parkmall, made Mandaue City its prime location. Another real estate gem, Mandani Bay, is expected to gain full force by the next few years, has settled in the most historic spot in Mandaue in Zuellig Ave.

So what are you waiting for? Join us and let’s discover what Mandaue City has to offer! 🙂
